NASHVILLE, TENN. (October 8, 2021) — Now entering the fifth week of a first-of-its-kind Country experiment, HIXTAPE: Vol. 2 returns with two more stars today (10/8), as Chris Lane and Scotty McCreery team up for “Small Town On It.”
A born-and-raised jam dedicated to the simple life, “Small Town On It” was written by Rodney Clawson, Nicolle Galyon, Lee Miller and Jimmy Robbins. With hit-maker Joey Moi at the helm and Derek Wells sharing in production credit, the song delivers a custom-made melody that fits like a pair of broken-in boots. And likewise, chart-toppers Lane and McCreery trade verses like life-long friends, calling out the way small-town living leaves its mark on everything it touches.
Founded by Country star, HARDY, HIXTAPE: Vol. 2 is a groundbreaking Country collaborations album, with a star-studded list of artists creating the ultimate mixtape of backroads bangers and party-friendly anthems.
Following the original HIXTAPE: Vol. 1 (2019), the series now expands to become bigger than any one star, with 14 new tracks and 33 artists in total. The project features Ashland Craft, Ben Burgess, Brantley Gilbert, Brothers Osborne, Chase Rice, Chris Lane, Chris Shiflett, Colt Ford, David Lee Murphy, Dierks Bentley, ERNEST, Granger Smith, Jake Owen, Jake Worthington, Jimmie Allen, Jon Pardi, Josh Thompson, Justin Moore, Lainey Wilson, Larry Fleet, Lee Brice, Marty Stuart, Matt Stell, Midland, Morgan Wallen, Randy Houser, Rhett Akins, Ronnie Dunn, Scotty McCreery, Sean Stemaly, The Cadillac Three and Travis Denning, with another track arriving each week through December 10.
“Small Town On It (feat. Chris Lane & Scotty McCreery)” follows last week’s installment, “To Hank (feat. HARDY, Brantley Gilbert & Colt Ford),” and previously released tracks include “In Love With My Problems (feat. Larry Fleet & Jon Pardi),” “WD-40 4WD (feat. Sean Stemaly, Jimmie Allen & Justin Moore)” and “Hometown Boys (feat. Matt Stell, Dierks Bentley & HARDY).”
Keep an eye out next Friday (10/15) for more.
