CODY, Wyo. — Championship Saturday has arrived at the 107th Cody Stampede, and with one performance remaining, nearly every event is still up for grabs as competitors battle for some of the biggest Fourth of July payouts in professional rodeo.

Known throughout the rodeo world as Cowboy Christmas, the Independence Day run allows contestants to compete at multiple rodeos across the country. Cody remains one of the premier stops because its one-header format offers substantial prize money and valuable world standings points.

Stetson Wright Still Leads Saddle Bronc Riding

Seven-time PRCA World Champion Stetson Wright continues to hold the top spot in saddle bronc riding after his 89.5-point performance aboard Moon Valley.

Wyatt Casper remains within striking distance at 88 points, while Chase Brooks sits third with 87.5. Several top bronc riders are still scheduled to compete during Saturday’s championship performance, making the title race far from settled.

Rookie Noah Lee Continues Remarkable Season

One of the biggest stories of the rodeo came from rookie bull rider Noah Lee of Mineral Wells, Texas.

Lee matched the event’s highest score with an outstanding 91-point ride aboard Frontier Rodeo’s Carmen, tying Tristen Hutchings atop the leaderboard.

The first-year professional continues an incredible rookie campaign, currently sitting third in the PRCA World Standings while leading the Resistol Rookie of the Year race.

Four “Williams” Cowgirls Share the Lead

One of the most unique storylines of this year’s Cody Stampede belongs to the breakaway roping.

Four competitors—all sharing the last name Williams, though not all related—are tied for first place after posting identical 2.1-second runs.

The leaders include:

Cadee Williams (Montana)
Joey Williams (Montana)
Hali Williams (Texas)
Summer Williams (Texas)

The remarkable four-way tie has become one of the most talked-about stories of this year’s rodeo.

Tanner Aus Makes a Strong Move

Minnesota bareback rider Tanner Aus improved his chances of qualifying for a ninth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo by moving into second place with an 86.5-point ride.

Currently sitting 15th in the PRCA World Standings, Aus is looking to capitalize on the lucrative Fourth of July rodeos to strengthen his position before the regular season concludes.

Championship Saturday Awaits

With only one performance remaining, every ride and every run carries championship implications.

Fans can expect dramatic finishes as some of the sport’s biggest names attempt to overtake current leaders in one of rodeo’s most prestigious Independence Day celebrations.
