NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (May 12, 2023) – Multi-Platinum selling superstar Cole Swindell was one of the night’s biggest winners, taking home three ACM Awards at last night’s 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. Swindell took home the Single of the Year and won two awards for the prestigious Song of the Year (as songwriter and artist) all for his 5-week No. 1 hit “She Had Me At Heads Carolina.” The multi-award-winning song, produced by Zach Crowell, was co-written with Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, Thomas Rhett and the original writers on “Heads Carolina, Tails California” Mark D. Sanders and Tim Nichols. Swindell topped the award-winning night with a performance of “She Had Me At Carolina [Remix]” with Jo Dee Messina.
Just five months into 2023, Swindell has had a career-defining year. In addition to taking home three ACM Awards and a buzzworthy performance of “She Had Me At Heads Carolina [Remix]” with Jo Dee Messina last night, he recently released his deluxe album Stereotype Broken. He won Country Song of the Year for “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” at the iHeart Music Awards and earned a pair of nominations at the 2023 CMT Music Awards.” Last week, Swindell hit the road with his friend and co-writer on “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” Thomas Rhett for his Home Team Tour.
The Georgia native’s current single, “Drinkaby,” was released to radio in January and is sitting in the Top 25 on the country singles charts. “Drinkaby,” written by Jon Pardi, Jordan Schmidt, HARDY and Hunter Phelps, follows three Platinum-certified, multi-week No. 1 singles from his fourth album Stereotype: “Never Say Never” featuring Lainey Wilson, “Single Saturday Night” and, most recently, “She Had Me At Heads Carolina,” which remained in the Top 5 for 23 consecutive weeks.
The multi-Platinum hitmaker’s most recent release is the focus track from Stereotype Broken, “Sad Ass Country Song.” Written by Swindell, Josh Miller, Matt Dragstrem and his long-time friend/ guitar player/bandmate Joel Hutsell, the tongue-in-cheek heartbreak song has quickly become a fan favorite on the road. Stereotype Broken and “Sad Ass Country Song” are available at all digital retailers.
The chart-topping country superstar is currently on Thomas Rhett’s Home Team Tour and will headline his own Twelve Tour beginning in October.
