NASHVILLE, TN – Payton Howie is always down for a good time, but in her new single “Country Before Me,” she shows her heart. Honoring trailblazers and personal influences like Reba, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, “Country Before Me” pays homage to the Women of Country who paved the way – the struggles, the triumphs and even the songs.
“This song is a change of pace from the more rowdy songs I’ve put out before and shows a side of my artistry that I haven’t shared with my listeners till now,”Payton shares with COWGIRL Magazine in the premiere of the track. “This single allows me to show my gratitude and respect for the women of country that went before me and changed the course of country music history.”
“Country Before Me” follows her party anthem “Never Go Home,” which was featured on several Spotify editorial playlists, including Country Rock and Fresh Finds Country: Best of 2021. “Country Before Me” and “Never Go Home” will both be featured on her debut EP titled Youngblood, slated for February 18, 2022.
