ROPER ENTRIES NOW OPEN FOR THE COJO CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

Nashville, Tenn. (August 11, 2025) – Roper entries are now open for multi-Platinum recording artist Cody Johnson’s premier roping competition, The COJO Championship Event, that is set to return October 7–12, 2025 at the Cadence Bank Center Arena in Belton, Texas. The Texas-native is upping the stakes with exciting new additions to this year’s event including a dedicated All Ladies Day, where it’s the Cowgirls’ turn to take center stage, show off their grit, and dominate the arena in Breakaway Roping and Ladies Team Roping. The spotlight doesn’t stop there: the competition will also feature an entire day devoted to Youth Junior Team Roping, giving the next generation of champions their moment to shine. Adding to the prestige, both the Breakaway Roping and the COJO Open are now officially recognized as American Contender Series Events, making them must‑compete stops for ropers aiming for the top.

Last year’s inaugural COJO Championship Event set the bar sky-high, paying out an impressive $845,000 in cash and awarding over $500,000 in physical prizes.
