CHARLESTON, W.V. – After three prior Top-10 finishes this season, Grayson Cole finally got over the hump on Saturday to earn the event buckle, winning the Kubota PBR Charleston at Charleston Coliseum.
Cole, the leader after Friday night with an 87.30-point ride on Midnight Tiger, tacked on another 86.30 points to open Saturday. While he bucked off in the championship round, his total of 173.60 points was enough to secure his first win of the season.
Dener Barbosa brought home the silver with 172.45 points, after besting Red Man on Friday for 85.20 points and Red Bull in the second round for 86.25 points Saturday. Despite bucking off in the final round, Barbosa finished second.
Mason Taylor finished third after scoring 85.70 points on Mr. Man on Friday and 85.90 points on Midnight Drink in the second round.
Alex Marcilio elevated himself to a fourth-place finish after entering the final round with an 85.75-point ride Friday night. He tallied 82.50 more points in the Championship Round to rise in the event standings.
Chase Hamlin rounded out the top five riders with 87.25 points, riding Still Flyin’ Crazy Friday night then shut out Saturday and in the short go.
The Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour goes north and south this upcoming weekend, Jan. 23-24 with a show at Cooper Tires PBR Grand Rapids and Silencer Shop PBR Tulsa.
