DENVER, Colo. (Jan. 21, 2026) — No one has been happier about their success at the National Western Stock Show Rodeo than barrel racer Brittany Fellows.

Fellows, from Weatherford, Texas, took the lead in rounds one and two and is the only barrel racer here so far to have two runs under 15 seconds. She competed on Wednesday in Bracket 6 and lit up the arena with a 14.71-second run on her new mare, Neon Lites that she calls “Betty.” It was only the third run that they had made together and it was Betty’s first rodeo, but she handled it like a seasoned veteran. And, just about five hours later, the duo was back in the coliseum making their second run. They stopped the clock in 14.87 seconds at the evening performance and now will be favorites at Saturday’s Semi-Finals. They qualified based on a total time of 29.58 seconds. The competitors all have a fresh start in the Semi-Finals and the four fastest times from each of the three performances advance to the Championship Finals on Sunday. Fellows and Betty are garnering fans with every run and are going to be ones to watch.

Wyoming’s Cole Reiner dominated the bareback riding in Bracket 6 at the National Western Stock Show Rodeo. He scored 81.5 points in round one and then followed that up with this 84-point effort on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s horse named Ready to Rock. Reiner’s total of 165.5 has him headed to the Semi-Finals on Saturday.

Bareback rider Cole Reiner also dominated his event and is looking for his first title in the Denver Coliseum. Reiner from Buffalo, Wyoming, was 81.5 points Wednesday afternoon and followed that up with an 84-point effort Wednesday night. He was at the top of Bracket 6 with 165.5 points. Reiner is in a unique position after missing last year’s National Finals Rodeo. He had competed at rodeo’s championships for five straight years, then fell short in 2025 at 24^th. The 2026 rodeo season started in October, but Reiner took a break from the competition and just returned at the New Year’s Eve Buck and Ball in his home state of Wyoming.

That decision may pay off here. Reiner’s 84 on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s Ready to Rock was the high scoring ride of Bracket 6. He will now have two days off before competing in Saturday’s Semi-Finals.

Competition continues on Thursday with performances at 1:30 and 7 p.m. where Bracket 7 will be completed.
