NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 14, 2026) — Hide the vet bills and somebody warn Ella Langley , Cledus T. Judd is back.
For more than three decades, Judd has made a career out of finding the funny side of country music, and this time one of the genre’s brightest new stars has provided the inspiration.
StarVista Music has released “Meet Her (Tribute to Ella),” the newest single and music video from the country comedian known for turning hit songs, superstar artists and everyday life into laugh-out-loud country entertainment.
Inspired by Ella Langley and her song “Be Her,” “Meet Her” combines Judd’s signature parody style with a surprisingly simple story: Cledus saw Ella on television and decided he wanted to meet her.
And just like that, a song was born.
IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE QUESTION
“My wife and I were watching CMT one morning and she asked who I’d like to meet that I haven’t met yet in the music biz,” Judd explains. “Ella’s ‘Be Her’ video was on at that time and I said, ‘her,’ pointing at Ella, ‘I’d like to meet her.’”
But the story didn’t end there.
“When I got home that evening Amanda had already written half of the song ‘Meet Her,’ and I helped her finish it, and that’s how it came to fruition.”
It was exactly the kind of spontaneous moment that has fueled Judd’s comedy throughout his career — taking something ordinary and turning it into something country fans can laugh about.
CLEDUS DOESN’T JUST PARODY THE SONG — HE TAKES ON THE VIDEO
A Cledus T. Judd release wouldn’t be complete without a music video.
For “Meet Her,” Judd and his team took inspiration from Langley’s “Be Her” video and gave it the full Cledus treatment.
“I wanted to parody her video as well as the song,” Judd said. “We got it as close to Ella’s as we could but still being Cledus on a much cheesier level, as you can tell by watching it.”
The project also became a family affair.
Judd and his wife, Amanda, produced the video, his daughter Caitlyn filmed it, and longtime friend Shay Smith handled the edit.
The result is vintage Cledus — self-aware, outrageous and created with an obvious affection for the country music and artists he’s spent his career celebrating.
AND CLEDUS HAS A MESSAGE FOR ELLA…
Of course, Judd couldn’t release a tribute without sending a personal message to the woman who inspired it.
And only Cledus could write this one:
“Dearest Ella. My friend Shania Twain changed my life in 1997 when my video ‘If Shania Was Mine’ was one of the most successful videos in CMT history. Now 29 years later and over 40 music videos later I’m asking ya to help change my life again so I can catch up on my child support and payoff my vet bill from 2003 … love you and hope to ‘Meet You’ someday soon.”
Whether Ella answers remains to be seen.
But if country music history is any indication, getting the Cledus T. Judd treatment means you’ve officially gotten his attention.
THREE DECADES OF MAKING COUNTRY MUSIC LAUGH

Country television audiences came to know him as a co-host of CMT’s “Most Wanted Live.” He later co-hosted USA Network’s “Nashville Star” alongside LeAnn Rimes, appeared in Toby Keith’s movie “Beer for My Horses,” and became a fan favorite on VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club.”
