NASHVILLE, TENN. / AUSTIN, TEXAS – Today Big Loud Texas introduces their newest roster addition with the signing of Austin-based band The Droptines – a group that lives cautiouslessly between the lines of Americana and rock and roll. Over the weekend the band opened for Whiskey Myers at Nashville’s sold-out Ascend Amphitheater where they shared the news from stage. An unforgettable introduction, The Droptines make their label debut today with the release of “Take Too Much.”
“When we met JR [Jon Randall] and Brendon [Anthony], it just felt like ‘these are the guys,’ and then it’s incredible to know we also have the expertise of someone with a career like Miranda’s to lean on,” “We just felt like if we are going to do this, we’re going to do it with them.”

“I can’t express my excitement to have The Droptines call Big Loud Texas home, I absolutely love these guys and their music. They are the hardest working band out there and I can’t wait for everybody to hear what we’ve been up to in the studio.”
– Jon Randall Big Loud Texas Co-Founder and President of A&R
The new tune, written by frontman Conner Arthur and produced by Randall at Arlyn Studios, is driven by a vocal growl reminiscent of Springsteen, exemplifying the band’s alt-trajectory: “beatnik-like itinerary of a lost soul’s activity” (Saving Country Music). Similarly in the vein of Springsteen, the band’s artistry is deeply influenced by rock heroes like Tom Petty, and songwriters James McCurty, Mike McClure and more.
The gritty band was founded by frontman and Concan, Texas native Arthur in 2019. After a stint of aimlessness – hitchhiking across the country, working construction and in the oil field – Arthur found himself in the studio creating what would become the band’s debut EP. A self-titled album followed in 2024. Working on their forthcoming project, the band is readying new music entrenched in a southern vernacular – ultimately writing and performing the type of songs they want to hear most.
Taking their rollicking sound and irreverent lyrics on tour across the country in their repurposed silver school bus-turned-tour bus further cements their beatnik-like lifestyle and ethos. Currently on the road with Whiskey Myers, The Droptines are billed for Lollapalooza, slots opening for Dwight Yoakam and a headlining run hitting iconic venues throughout the U.S. like West Hollywood’s Troubadour.
